Harkara and the delivery apps: what's different.
Harkara's column is counted from the live data; the delivery column is what delivery apps say about themselves.
| Harkara | Delivery apps | |
|---|---|---|
| How the food reaches you | You collect it, or sit down at your table. No riders. | A rider brings it to your door. |
| Where | Jaipur, 11 restaurants today. | Most cities in India, thousands of restaurants. |
| What you pay above the food | ₹5 platform fee per order, plus GST. No delivery fee. | A delivery fee, a platform fee and packaging; sometimes a surge or small-order charge. The amounts vary by order. |
| Menu prices | The restaurant's own menu prices. | Set by the restaurant for the app; compare with the counter. |
| How you choose | What the kitchen declares (oil, dairy, sweeteners, freezer, kitchen access), estimated calories and protein per dish, and a trust score earned from real orders. No star ratings. | Star ratings, reviews, photos, offers and sorting. |
| Ranking | No paid placement. Kitchens are listed by area. | Results may include promoted listings, marked as such. |
| When the kitchen starts | As you get close, so it is ready when you walk in. | When the order is placed; the food travels. |
| Dine-in | Order ahead for your table and pay in the app. | Table booking through a separate section, where offered. |
| Numbers | 1,453 dishes with estimated calories, 281 at 20 g+ protein, 54 marked vegan by the menus. | Dish names, prices and photos; nutrition where the restaurant adds it. |
When to use which
Use a delivery app when you want food brought to you. Use Harkara when you are going to the restaurant anyway, or it is a short walk, and you want the food ready as you arrive, the bill without delivery lines, and a menu that says what is in it.
The one thing only Harkara shows: each kitchen's own answers on cooking oil, dairy, sweeteners, freezer use and whether you can see the kitchen, beside estimated calories and protein for every dish. How we know explains where each fact comes from.
Questions people ask
Is Harkara an alternative to the delivery apps?
For pickup and dine-in in Jaipur, yes. For delivery, no: Harkara does not deliver, and will not pretend to. If you want food brought to your door, a delivery app is the right tool.
Why would I collect food myself?
A smaller bill (no delivery fee, the restaurant's own prices, a ₹5 fee), food made for the moment you arrive, and a menu that tells you what is in it. Many of our partners are a short walk from where their guests work.
Are the same restaurants on Harkara?
11 Jaipur kitchens today, listed by area on the restaurants page. Each has agreed to answer seventeen questions about its kitchen and to show estimated calories on every dish.
Does Harkara take a commission?
Yes, from the restaurant, agreed with each partner; there is no delivery to pay for. It never changes what you pay.
Can I see ratings?
No star ratings. A kitchen gets a Harkara trust score after enough real orders and guest feedback, and every kitchen's declarations are on its page. How we know explains each kind of fact.
