“Looks incredible. Cooked in what?”

How we know what's in your food.

Everything on a Harkara menu is one of three things: what the kitchen says, what the menu says, or our estimate. Here is which is which, and how far to trust each.
  1. 1The question, as the partner app asks it. The kitchen answers in its own words; we never rephrase.
  2. 2Every kitchen gets the same 17 questions. The label shows the five people search for most.
  3. 3The count is kitchens, not dishes: four olive-oil kitchens means four whole menus cooked in it.
  4. 4A kitchen that skips a question shows nothing for it. We never fill a blank in.

What the kitchen declares

Every partner kitchen answers the same 17 questions in the Harkara partner app:

  • Cooking oil
  • Oil reuse
  • Dairy
  • Sweeteners
  • Flour
  • Freezer
  • Vegetables
  • Meat
  • Spices
  • Salt
  • Food colour
  • Water
  • Cookware
  • Kitchen view
  • Staff hygiene
  • Pest control
  • Washing

We show each answer on the kitchen's page exactly as given, next to the food, where its own diners can hold it to them. A kitchen that skips a question shows nothing for it; we never fill it in.

Our estimate

Calories and macros

Calories, protein, carbs, fat and fibre are worked out from each dish's name, description and listed ingredients, with AI help, against typical values for a standard serving. We check them when a menu goes live and correct them when we find a mistake.

They are estimates, not lab results. Portions and recipes vary from kitchen to kitchen and day to day, so use them as a guide for choosing, not for medical needs.

From the menu

Diet tags and allergens

Veg and non-veg marks come from the restaurant's menu. Tags like Jain or vegan appear only where the restaurant's menu or dish description says so; we don't add them on our own judgement.

“Contains” notes (nuts, dairy, gluten and so on) come from the dish description. A missing note doesn't mean a dish is free of something. If you have an allergy, tell the kitchen before you order.

Earned, not bought

The trust score

There are no star ratings on Harkara. A restaurant's trust score is built from what diners did and how they felt: a one-tap check on whether the taste held up, how they felt two hours after eating, and whether they came back.

  • Did the taste hold up?
  • How do you feel, two hours on?
  • Would you go back?

A score shows on a kitchen only once enough diners have checked in, so a handful of meals can't make or break it. No restaurant can pay for a better score or a higher place in search.

Used for timing only
